Spring Ranch Update
We are long over due for a ranch update!
Whoa has it ever been a busy spring. Our farm help retired, we took on turning a shed into a tiny house for an AirBNB, cows are calving, pigs and chickens are here and growing for your families next meal!
It has been crazy but awesome at the same time, it is the time of the year of more sunshine and more to dos, but also more energy so it works out. We like living with the seasons, in tune to the rhythms of nature.
It is why we raise meat the way we do and sell it as bulk, because there are certain seasons that are better for the animals, and certain seasons that are not. Grocery stores and society has told us we should have everything in stock at all times.
However that is just not biologically true in nature and in our bodies. That is like telling our bodies they never need rest and can just continue going 24/7 365 days of the year. Its unrealistic and it is crazy.
God created the seasons and the rhythms of nature and the more we can sync to that and live in tune, the better we will feel.
So, for the production of meat that means we have chickens on the farm in the spring and fall when the weather is most desirable to keep them healthy while living outside where they should live!
It also means you have to plan ahead and buy enough to get through the next season. But thankfully with modern freezers this is not near the hassle it once was.
I hope you have had a wonderful spring season and here are some pictures from the last couple months :)
